So, creatively speaking, life has been a bit chaotic for the last few months. As usual I have been doing “stuff”, but haven’t been organised enough to take photos or talk about what I’ve been doing. So, it’s time to play catch-up. I discovered Zentangle™ quite a while ago, but at the time, I only dabbled around a bit. Then, for some reason, a few weeks ago I became obsessed with the idea of drawing Zentangles on old, unused CDs. I have always thought that the disks themselves are so pretty, with their holographic, iridescent sheen. After hunting around for markers that stick to the disks—it turns out that not all permanent markers are created equal—I started drawing like crazy. I was a bit unsure what I was going to do with them, but Giulia from The New Label Project suggested that I use them as display props, so I’m slowly working my way into that. In the meantime, here are some examples of my Tangled CDs. Oh, and in case it’s not obvious: I’ve used a black permanent marker to draw on the back of the disk (the non-printed side); any colours that you see are in the disk. yip_7676_20131013_high yip_7677_20131013_high yip_7665_20131013_high yip_7667_20131013_high
