Well, I had never heard of the terms Black Friday or Cyber Monday before, but they seem to be bit of a marketing phenomenon in America, where the Etsy website is based. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, traditionally seen as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, and apparently there are many bargains to be found In the bricks-and-mortar shops. Cyber Monday is the Monday after Black Friday and the marketing people would have you believe that it’s a great time to find online bargains.
In any case, Etsy has been encouraging sellers to participate in their site-wide Black Friday-Cyber Monday promotion, so I have jumped on the bandwagon and am offering a 10% discount on all of my lapel pins, earrings and designer push pins. Sale is on now and lasts until 11 pm on Tuesday night (Etsy time, which I think means until early Wednesday morning GMT).
Etsy has recently introduced coupon codes, so you, my faithful blog readers, can enter the coupon code SLICEDFRIDAY for an extra 5% discount on all items. The coupon code is valid until the end of the Black Friday sale.
