- brass marver. See marver. An implement or tool made of braas, with a flat surface. Brass is a wonderful metal that will grab the glass and let you (if the glass is hot enough) push and pull it to the place that you want it to be. A brass tool is indiispensable when encasing.
- encasing. Usually refers to covering a glass core with another transparent, usually clear, glass.
- fine silver. 99% silver by weight. This is purer (more silver content) than sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure (thus the term 925). Fine silver is usually added to a bead as a foil, or as a thinly drawn wire.
- graphite marver, See marver. An implement or tool made of graphite, with a flat surface.
